Measurements and Experiments

The Measurements and Experiments group maintains the DIRS material property characterization instrumentation, as well as coordinates any field campaign and experiments being conducted by members of DIRS. They work closely with the LIAS laboratory also within the Center for Imaging Science.

DIRS & LIAS develop, maintain, and deploy several remote sensing systems, both imaging and non-imaging. Among them are the Modular imaging Spectrometer Instrument, or MISI, our multi- & hyperspectral imaging spectrometer, the Wildfire Airborne Sensor Platform, or WASP, and the smaller, WASP-lite. Additionally, we have several in situ measurement systems and both field and lab spectrometers to characterize the reflective and emissive properties of materials.

My interests are in geometric and stochastic hyperspectral target detection as well as improvements to the physics based modeling approach as it pertains to the development of target spaces. In general, anything to do with HSI and radiometry.
